About Licola Wilderness Village

Licola was originally a logging settlement.  By the time it was bought by the Lions Clubs of Victoria and Southern NSW in 1969, it was abandoned and derelict.  With a lot of help from Lions and other volunteers and the Army, considerable earthworks, bridge refurbishment and relocation of houses it was transformed to the village you see today.

Lions Village Licola’s Mission Statement is "to conduct and maintain a public benevolent institution promoting respect, mutual trust, self confidence and esteem, discipline and communication skills through group activities in a caring atmosphere conducive to enjoyment and education of life primarily for disabled, disadvantaged and infirm of the communities".

Lions Village Licola was incorporated in 1986, and received deductable gift recipient (DGR) status from 1 July 2000.

Following a series of natural disasters in late 2006 and through 2007 over $2M has been invested into the activities and infrastructure of the camp

With the kind help of Local and State Government and Philanthropic Agencies, the Lions Clubs have worked tirelessly to re-establish the camp as you see it today, and we are now back, bigger and better than ever with new activities and much greater accessibility for all ability groups. Please give us a call and come and see for yourself.
